Our expertise

Why you should report fraud and cybercrime

In order for law enforcement to combat fraud and cybercrime, it is essential that those who experience, or fall victim, report it to local police and the FAFC. Local police are positioned to investigate the incident and the FAFC supports law enforcement by sharing information collected through the reports.

Scammers can target anyone or business owner. Here are some tips and tricks to protect yourself or your business from scams and fraud.

• Do your research

• Don’t be afraid to say no.

It is also recommended that you report the instance of a scam, fraud or cybercrime, whether you are a victim or not, to the FAFC.

Stay calm. Gather all information about the fraud, including:

  • documents
  • receipts
  • copies of emails and/or text messages.
